Let's be real: Most of us weren’t taught that getting pregnant could be a struggle.
From the moment we received sex education in school, the message was loud and clear: “Avoid getting pregnant!” For many, that message was repeated so often it planted a deep belief that pregnancy would happen quickly and easily. (When the time was right...)
But now, here you are, doing all the “right things" and still waiting.
Maybe you’ve googled “how to get pregnant fast”, possibly more than once.
And you’ve probably seen the same advice over and over again:
✔ Have sex regularly
✔ Eat healthy
✔ Exercise
✔ Quit smoking and avoid alcohol
✔ Use ovulation predictor kits
✔ Track your cycle
✔ Relax
(I cover more of this in my free guide here.)
If you've tried all of this and it still hasn't worked, I want you to know: This isn't your fault, you’re not doing anything wrong.
So… what actually helps?
It’s a question I get asked all the time. And the answer might surprise you:
Self-Awareness
Now, I know that might sound vague or “not enough”. But hear me out, because this one shift can change everything.
When you deepen your self-awareness, you begin to truly understand what your body needs to thrive. You stop blindly following advice meant for “everyone” and instead start tuning into what actually works for you.
Self-awareness means noticing:
What foods leave you bloated, tired, or energised
How your body responds to different types of movement
What supports your sleep (and what disrupts it)
When in your cycle you feel most connected, grounded, or off-balance
What stress actually feels like in your body and how you can respond
How your menstrual cycle gives clues about your health
When your energy is calling for rest, stillness, or connection
What routines, boundaries, and practices help you feel like you
This isn’t about adding more to your already-too-long to-do list.
It’s about coming back to yourself.
Because when you build self-awareness, you build confidence. You move through your fertility journey with more clarity, ease, and trust — and less of that crushing “what am I doing wrong?” feeling.
Yes, the basics matter, nutrition, movement, sleep, cycle tracking, but those only work when they’re aligned with you.
Your body is wise. It’s not broken.
Your body needs your attention, not your punishment.
What if your next step wasn’t about trying harder, but about trying differently?
If you’re ready to tune into your body, feel more grounded in your journey, and finally get support that sees you as a whole person — not just a fertility case — I’d love to connect.
